Epidemiologic Study of Pulmonary Ventilatory Function - As a Risk Factor of Coronary Heart Disease
Kim Keun-Youl

Abstract
1) Pulmonary Ventilatory Function Analysis of 7477 Japanese men living in Hawaii was done for the, purpose of Risk Factor evaluation of Coronary Heart Disease.
2) Pulmonary Ventilatory. Function Parameters, FVC, FEV1. 0- and FEVI. 0/FVC% are significantly correlated with age (negatively), however, FEV1. 0/FVC% is appreared to be least age dependent parameter.
3) FVC and FEV1.0 showed positive correlation with Height, Biacrom. and Biiliac diameter (p4) FEVI. 0/FVC% value showed negative sorrel ation with. Age¢¥ and cigarette .((<0.005) and ,positive correlation with Relative ¢¥weight. (p<0.005)
5) ¢¥The relationship of Medical history Questionnaive and all pulmonary¢¥ function parameters showed significant difference between "YES" and ¢¥NO" group, however, diagnostic target symptoms of CHRONIC BRONCHITIS is only reflected by FEV1.0/FVC% value.
6) Coronary Heart Disease is more observed in 60-69 years of Age group. (p<0.001)
7) Comparison of Pulmonary Function Parameters between Coronary Heart Disease and Non-Coronary Heart Disease showed significant difference at 5% level in FVC, FEV1.0 and FVC/%, but no significant difference in FEV1. 0/ FVC% value comparison. None of the category was significantly difference at 1% level.
8) Further reliable specific test method is desirable and to be developed for the early dectection of Ventilatory defece as a risk factor of Coronary Heart Disease.
